Founder
Born into a family of educators, Haywood L. Perry Jr. developed a deep passion for teaching, while dogs quickly became his lifelong focus. His journey began at age five with a German Shepherd, sparking an obsession that never faded. He trained under an Air Force K-9 expert, gaining strong obedience skills, and later worked as a veterinary technician to understand canine health. After studying various training philosophies, he established his own approach.
In 1985, he opened Friendship Academy for Dogs, emphasizing success for both pets and owners. He expanded with Manor West Kennels, offering boarding that deepened client relationships. In 1994, alongside Dr. Adrienne Edwards, he co-founded The Pet Depot, a comprehensive pet care center. He also launched CEPP, bringing global professionals together. With decades of experience, he continues inspiring dog owners and promoting better leadership and understanding every single day.
